A Little History

Angela Prisca Enwezor, a self taught skilled seamstress and fashion designer at Prisca’s Art, a business she legally established in 2018. With a BA degree in International Relations and History. & Originally from Nigeria, Angela moved to Washington, DC as a new mother and have since established here. Her passion for creating clothing dates back to her school days when she pursued it as a side hustle. As a second-generation entrepreneur, Angela’s love for design was passed down from her mother, who was a successful businesswoman. She taught her the importance of running a business and was never afraid to take on new challenges. Her mother’s confidence is both intimidating and inspiring.

Prisca's Art is a fashion brand that embraces Afrocentric style, drawing inspiration from nature and vibrant colors to create unique pieces that blend traditional heritage with contemporary design. Our passion for storytelling through Style shines through in every creation, as we strive to bring our clients' visions to life. We are committed to promoting diversity and representation, fostering inclusivity and self-expression. Whether on the runway or in everyday street style, Prisca's Art designs encapsulate the beauty of celebrating heritage and expressing individuality.

Angela is dedicated to sharing her passion for design on a global scale, inspiring the next generation of young girls to pursue their creative dreams. This commitment led to the launch of her NGO last year, through which they offer fashion accessory and sewing classes to young girls and boys. Known as IWINOSA Timeless Stitches, the program is named after the Edo people of Southern Nigeria which signifies "Beauty in Stitches."

With years of practice Angela thrive on bringing her clients’ wildest ideas to life and telling stories through style. Her consultations with clients are all about those unique vibes. She lives for those moments when customers share their wildest ideas with her, because together, they create pure magic!

In 2018, Angela launched the first of its kind Sidewalk Fashion Show in the District of Columbia with the aim of supporting small businesses and making a positive impact in the community. This year marks the  fourth consecutive year, not counting the pandemic period, and thrilled to announce partnership with Jasmines Hair Gallery for THE NATIVE WAY HAIR SHOW 2024! Prisca's Art has also participated in various other fashion shows, including Voyage to Utopia by Marymount University, and has been featured in publications, radio broadcasts, and television programs such as BlackBride1998, ABC7 Good Morning Washington, HuffPost, and WPGC, among others.
